Damn! Why couldn't she tame her mouth ... It always does the same thing to her. Words just keep coming out of them unprocessed.
The male who had interrupted her thoughts earlier just looked at her with a smirk on his face. Oh yeah, he was amused, she thought to herself and never tried unlocking her eyes from his even though she was burning with embarrassment and really needed to look elsewhere.
He was the first to get his eyes off... Y'ayy.. She won. Good thing he was going to leave it alone but when she calmed down a bit, he decided he wasn't going to.
"You know I should take you up on that."
"On what? " she said, feigning ignorance.
"The sex thing. " he replied.
"oh!.. Uh I... erm ..o God, I wasn't talking to you "
"So who then cos I don't see anyone else close to our table. "
"Shouldn't that give you something to think about?? Like I'm psyched...you know...." And gestured in a way that made her seem mental.
He just laughed out...pointing his glass at her and said, " I like you. "
His laughter rather than make her all the more embarrased, surprisingly calmed her. She didn't exactly want him thinking she was mentally disturbed,, gosh. She didn't want anyone thinking that. Good thing he took it for a joke.
The only problem now was that she needed to occupy herself with something and her drink was drained...
So, stricken by an unknown force that made her unable to get up from her seat, she couldn't help looking at her glass and willing it to fill.
He noticed.
"can I buy you drink "
"what ," she replied..acting like she had not heard him. Mehn, I can't have him thinking I'm desperate for another drink.
" I said, can I get you a drink? Maybe red ..."
" are you planning to get me drunk and in bed with you? " she interrupted.
Oh my gosh, she thought to herself... I was thinking aloud when she saw the expression on his face and actually put her head on the table covering it with both hands like it would make her invisible.
"I can still see you." he said.
and because there was the trace of a smile in his voice, she looked up and said,
" I know. "
" I'm sorry, I think a lot of things and most times, I'm thinking it aloud. " she continued
He was quiet... Watching her. .
She couldn't even look at him, all she wanted to do was disappear and since there was no magic way out, she had to do it the hard way. She picked up her purse and walked out of the bar and he didn't even come after her or say a word.. Not that she wanted him to ....after all she wasn't used to any that.
