The Secret Diaries 7

"Oh...i didn't think about that but let's see...hmm" He thought for a while. "100k?"
"Fourple it." I said, without thinking
"Fourple? oh you mean add up by four times ?" he asked, then continued,"okay, that should be uhm, wait, huh...Jeez Bibi that's 400."
"Yes"
"Are you kidding me?" he said.
Then,
"Do you have a passport?"
"No...why?"

"I'm going to have to get you one...and a visa...and then a flight ticket. Bibi that's a hell lot of money considering the time frame."
"What kind of business are you goin for."
"Erm...actually, just a meeting...as in corporate stuff...ok, i'm buying a casino there, nothing big."
"Buying a casino?" i suddenly sit upright. That was big stuff. "Are you kidding me? Nothing big?"
"Yeah." he said with a uhm, what's on her mind voice.
"Then 400 is quite cheap for you."
He sighed. "fine, if that's what you want. Just get ready, i'll send a car to pick you up when it's time."
The phone went dead.
What? i thought to myself, he just agreed to that? i was kidding, i was f***king kidding.
I got up in a rush to go into the kitchen for a glass of water but got distracted by Kendra who decided to come home then.

"Hey hey hey...guess who's home.." She sang, barging in.
She loved doing that to me.
"It's meee..." she finished.
"Well, someone's excited tonight." I said, turning to her. Then i noticed the several shopping bags she's carrying.
I narrowed my eyes at her. "What's all that?"
"Shush and help me!" She replied.
I took a few bags from her, dropped down on a couch and started going through them.
"Hey stop.." she dropped the others on the ground and grabbed the ones i had. "It's supposed to be a surprise...i'm saving them for later."
"Oh!" i exclaimed. "Am i going to be surprised?"
"Of course...it's a surprise." She said that gesturing like she was talking to a dumb person.
I laughed. "I know, i just mean, is there anything for me in there?" I pointed at the bags
"We'll see about that." she replied.
Then,
"Hey, do you want to go see a movie tonight? I think we should go."
"No, i'm trying to save." I replied.
"Let's say your friend got her hands on some couple of bucks today and wants to spend...no, cross out want...needs to spend some you."
My eyebrows went up. "Did you get paid today? it's not the end of the month yet."
"No...if i waited for my salary...i would never be able to leave the house." She said, rolling her eyes. "those people know how to upset someone."

"So, movies? my treat."
"Don't you have to go to work tonight?"
"Yeah but i traded my shift..." She said, a little fustrated. ""So, i'm free baby."

An hour later, we were in a cab...
"So, are you going to tell me how you got the cash?" I asked Kendra
"Not yet."
"This is the third time you're saying that..." I was curious. "Why won't you tell me?"
"I'm going to tell you Bibi...but not now." She replied, checking her phone."Let's leave it at that please."
"Fine."
She started typing away on her phone while i looked out the window in a bid to concentrate on something else.
But it doesn't work.
"Kendra, at least tell me how much."
"Let it go." she said quickly, without looking away from her phone.
I wondered who she was chatting with...i wondered how she came by the money more. She was being secretive so it had to something big.
Kendra does some sleeping around for money but she always told me about each one. She had several stories i was already thinking i could write a chronicle out of it. I even had a name...
Adventures of the Kendra.

Suddenly, i remembered Daniel and the Vegas offer.
"Kendra..."
"I'm not telling okay?" she cut me off. "Why don't you let it go? I'll tell you  when i want too." she finished in a loud, upsetting tone, leaving me speechless.
The car came to a halt.
"We're here." she said and climbed out.
I stared at her back as she did and decided not to get upset or try to wiggle the information from her again

The Secret Diaries: Kendra

I had to look out for my friend. She'd gone and fallen in love with some rich, arrogant dude. The type who had women falling all over him and so took advantage. Bibi found out the hard way... And that was after she'd lost her v... to him. It made me mad to know that Bibi still had feelings for the guy... She froze every time she saw him. I wanted to slap her all those times but couldn't... Couldn't blame her either, I know she tried her best to forget him but it was hard. I did my best too... I hooked her up some other guys...rich guys but it never went beyond the first date. She was never interested. I gave up then. L et Bibi do whatever she wants, I told myself. I needed to respect her feelings even though it mad me mad. I cared about her alot. That was why when after an hour she'd told she needed to pee she wasn't back,  I got worried and started looking for her... She was missing the party... Hell,  I was missing the party by looking fo...

How Well Do You Know Your Telephone History?

Have you ever wondered how you could just pick up this small device and talk through it to someone else, miles and miles away from you and hear them as clearly as if they were sitting on the same couch as you? I have wondered that a lot. I have wondered who could have stumbled on the idea that something could be done to make people who live far away from each other to communicate with each other by voice. How did the person get the idea? Well, here's what i found... Two men, Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray stumbled on the idea; maybe around the same time, I don't know, but they both filed for a patent on the same day. This caused a huge disagreement that led to a legal battle to find who to be awarded the patent for the invention of the telephone. Alexander Graham Bell won. His lawyer had filed for a patent a few hours before Elisha's lawyer filed for his own patent. One day, in an electrical shop, Alexander Graham Bell was trying to perfect a method for sending mes...

I Met A Man Once (2)

A few months after it started, even though i was still scared about making a wrong decision. He-who-must-not-be-named! was the only man i had my eyes on. I didn't want him to have an idea that i was falling for him incase he took advantage of that information. I was firm in my resolve that i was still going to take my time to get to "yes" to his request no matter how much i wanted everything a relationship entailed with him. Yet, i remembered a singles & dating sermon i watched once that talked about not letting the person go, as long as they added value to your life. So i wrote down the next few lines in my notebook.   ''How does he make me feel?  Secure, complete, confident, not just excited but emotionally energized when we talk, when he holds my hands or when he touches me. He inspires me. Makes me feel like there is nothing I cannot accomplish every time he's encouraging my work or telling me I can do it. What about the day he told me about m...
